About Limerick

Named after the town of the same name in Ireland, Limerick is a Montgomery County township located 34 miles northwest of Center City, Philadelphia. Limerick is home to a nuclear power plant and an airport, and it has a total area of just under 23 square miles. This suburban township is largely residential, although visitors can choose between two different structures that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The William and Mordecai Evans House is a stucco, stone and log house which briefly housed General George Washington in 1777. And the Isaac Hunsberger House is a circa 1827 historic home made of brick and stone.
